Founded in 1978 in Bangalore, the World Shelter Organisation (WSO) has been at the forefront of advocating for the shelterless poor. Recognized by the United Nations, our mission has been a subject of discussion in the UN General Assembly, which designated 1978 as the Habitat Year. Over the decades, we have established strong partnerships with the UNDP, UN-Habitat, the Asian Coalition of Housing Rights, and numerous other organizations dedicated to this noble cause.
Our mission at the World Shelter Organisation is to empower communities worldwide through innovative housing solutions, effective waste management practices, climate resilience initiatives, and comprehensive disaster preparedness and response strategies. We are dedicated to fostering sustainable development, promoting environmental stewardship, and building resilient communities that thrive in a safe and secure environment.

Participating in the Global Warming Program has opened my eyes to the impact of climate change on our planet. The initiatives on renewable energy and tree planting campaigns have not only helped in reducing our carbon footprint but also brought our community together to work towards a greener future. I am proud to be part of this movement.

Before the Waste Management Program by World Shelter Organisation, our community was struggling with waste disposal issues that affected our health and environment. Thanks to the educational workshops and the introduction of recycling practices, our neighborhood is now cleaner, and we are more aware of how to manage waste responsibly. This program has truly transformed our living conditions.
